We are running the Surrey Half Marathon on behalf of Stepping Stones Playgroup.  It is a committee run playgroup and a registered charity that is based in the Scout Hut on the recreation ground in
Sheet, Petersfield.This playgroup helps over 40 families with children
aged 2 years to school age and the children come from all over the Petersfield and surrounding area. The ethos of the playgroup is for the children to learn through play using a range of play activities and most importantly to have fun.

As a charity we fundraise to make improvements to the setting and for toys, excursions etc.. Our focus next is to improve the fencing around our outside area. The garden setting around the Scout hut is invaluable for the children’s experience at nursery, giving them time to play in nature, grow vegetables and learn. The fencing was installed over 10 years ago and is now not fit for purpose, we need new higher
fencing to make the space safe for the children.

As I am sure you are aware, due to the current cost of living crisis it is a difficult time for everyone, for Stepping Stones it has been harder than ever to fundraise. We have however had amazing support from our families and the local community for our Christmas raffle, and we asre hoping running a half marathon to raise money for
the nursery will bring in the rest we need.
