The Beacon Folkestone have created two teams to take part in the Ragnar Relay White Cliffs Run. Teams come together to conquer a course over 2 days and 1 night conquering 170 miles!

I’ve not run for 30 years so you may well ask why, 6 months ago, I signed up to be a part of this.

Well, quite simply, the children and young people that I am privileged enough to work with overcome challenges every single day, and so I determined myself to be part of the team completing this challenge.

We want to raise as much money as possible so we can to support our students with educational residential trips.

These trips, (that many mainstream students make often in their last year at Primary school and at times during their Secondary school years.)  give them invaluable life experiences but they come at a financial cost to parents and carers.

For our students the equipment, staffing levels, venue requirements and adaptations to activities etc that are required, increase the costs of these trips, and the money we hope to raise will go towards keeping the costs for our students down in line with those of their mainstream peers.

I am NOT a runner! I find the training hard and running three relay legs, totalling over 12 miles, (nearly 20k) is going to be a real challenge for me!

Please help me reach my target and give me the last push to get me over the finish line.
