322 km Cycle (Anglesey to Cardiff at home) · 5 March 2021

We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

I am seriously concerned, as our Childline service is struggling. Many children are stuck at home in abusive homes and rely on our Childline as their only path to getting help. I am asking for donations that will go directly to the service.

During 2020 and this year the NSPCC have not been able to run events and raise funds due to Covid. Throughout the pandemic our incredible Childline counsellors have been taking calls from children who need our help. During the first lockdown Childline counsellors delivered almost 22,000 sessions regarding mental health concerns. Nearly 2,000 of these were under the age of 12 years old (37% higher than before lockdown).

Young people have been saying they are feeling low, anxious and unhappy.

This is the greatest challenge the NSPCC has faced in decades and sadly home for some children isn't a safe place.

I will be cycling 322km (200 miles) in 3 days commencing Friday 5th March to raise funds for this great cause. It's going to hurt but it is definitely worth it for the children.

The NSPCC is a charity that is very close to my heart. This is why I have not long decided to start working with them raising awareness and funds in the Gwynedd area. Sadly this support is needed now more than ever.
