We support people with aphasia to enable them to re-connect with life.

Story

Thanks for visiting my 10k run fundraising page.

My colleagues and I are running the Richmond Park 10k on 9th June 2012 for charity. You'll see our team fundraising target on the team page. Your donation can really help us smash this goal.

Last February, our much-loved Managing Director, Duncan Beale suffered a massive brain haemorrhage that left him hospitalised for several months.  Happily he is now making a steady recovery and is benefitting from the help of the charity, Connect.

Connect is a charity for people living with aphasia, a communication disability which usually occurs after a stroke or brain injury.  They work alongside people with aphasia and their families to develop communication and rebuild confidence.

With your donation, the team at Line Up can help Connect in some small way to continue to improve the lives of Duncan and other asphasia sufferers.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

So please dig deep and donate now.

About the charity

Connect is a national charity for people living with aphasia (communication disability) which is often caused by stroke. Aphasia can strike anyone at any age and at any time. 1 in every 200 people in the UK lives with aphasia and each person experiences it differently. Some people cannot speak at all, some people have just a few words. It affects reading, writing and numbers. Aphasia can lead to lack of confidence, depression, social exclusion – and people can lose their connection with the world. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Our vision is a simple one, we want a world where people with aphasia can re-connect with life again. Find out more about how we do that at www.ukconnect.org
