The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and thank you if you have already donated.

This autism awareness week I am going to challenge myself to swim 7k, run7k and cycle7k. It's all for an amazing cause thats close to my heart, Autism.

My daughter Katie (7) was diagnosed with Autism when she was 4 years old. She is a very girly girl who likes everything pink and loves to play with her sisters. Katie is very low functioning which means she finds everyday tasks difficult to complete and needs a high level of support. As this is a disorder which you cant necessary see by looking at her we as a family have experienced unkind comments and remarks regarding her behaviour. It is for that reason that I want to take part in this challenge so that autism can be more greatly understood by the wider population and that the children and their families affected by Autism are treated more kinder.
