Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In September 2018 I will be taking on a challenge that I've always been aware of, but never for a second thought I'd be taking part in. The Great North Run is the biggest half marathon in the UK, attracting 57,000 runners, and this year I'll be one of them!
I'll be running in order to raise money for Maggie's, which is a network of drop-in centres across the UK providing practical, emotional and social support to those suffering from cancer, along with their family and friends. Maggie's is close to the hearts of my family in the North East, which is why I've chosen to run for them, and I aim to raise at least £350 (but £500 would be better!!) which will be invaluable in helping Maggies to continue doing the amazing things they do for those suffering from a disease that affects all of us in some way.
As some of you know, I'm an 'go hard or go home' type of girl, so if I'm going to do this I'm going to do it properly, which means plenty of training both for running and strength, eating right and looking after myself. If I'm asking you for support then it's only fair that I am dedicated and pull my weight. If you see me nose deep in a tube of pringles or a sambuca shot any time between now and September, you have my full permission to smack them out of my hand.
I promise to keep you updated on my progress along the way.
