Story
We're each undertaking the challenge of moving 100 miles in February in aid of StreetDoctors - walking, cycling and running is how we plan to clock up the miles.
StreetDoctors is a charity that Rebecca volunteered and worked with for almost a decade. We now work in healthcare (Rebecca) and media (Yanar) and are both keen to raise awareness about the need to support vulnerable young people who find themselves involved in youth violence. Year on year, far too many young lives are needlessly ended.
Although, we like to think we might be living in an equal world, the reality is that's not true. Not every person is born with the same set of opportunities available to them. Acknowledging that reality and looking to shift the balance is important.
StreetDoctors is a charity whereby young healthcare volunteers across the UK work with other young people to help them learn the skills to save lives in a medical emergency. Training sessions help young people acquire vital knowledge and build on their confidence. They start to see themselves as potential lifesavers in their communities and capable of making positive choices.
Anything you're able to give will go a long way to supporting the great work of this incredible charity - they truly hold valuing the lives of every young person at the heart of their mission.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
