Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in The National Three Peaks Challenge in July and have decided to raise money for a local Liverpool charity, Centre 56. Centre 56 is a domestic abuse charity situated in Liverpool. They put the children first by providing childcare, information and support for families and children who have suffered, or are at risk of domestic abuse or a crisis situation.
During this pandemic, and multiple lockdowns, domestic violence has seen a severe increase within the UK and charities such as Centre 56 have been life-lines for many people that have been through this lived experience. With their support, families experiencing abuse or crisis situations, are able to flourish and move forward from these situations. This is especially important during a time that is trying for everyone and especially as charities are suffering financially due to not being able to fundraise to support their services.
I will be raising money by completing The National Three Peaks Challenge - summiting Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles, with a total ascent of 3064 metres. Having never climbed a mountain before - it is going to be a fun challenge to undertake in 2021!
