Support Migrateful to run cookery classes led by refugees, asylum seekers and migrants struggling to integrate and access employment in the UK.
Why we are supporting Migrateful and asking you to join us?
Alykhan, Sophie, Tim, Taigh and Vanessa have come together through a generosity program called BeMore. BeMore has helped us explore our values, passions and concerns. Through our charity research we were delighted to discover the incredible work of Migrateful and wanted to champion this charity that has provided life changing support for many families in the UK.
We joined a cookery course and saw first hand how food connects people and can open up conversations in unexpected ways. We made delicious food and met a chef who shared their experience of coming to live in the UK, the challenges they faced and the hugely positive impact Migrateful has had on their lives and their participation in the community.
Like many charities Migrateful has been hard hit by the pandemic disrupting the delivery of its regular cooking classes. This has a direct impact on its chefs and also the wider community, losing the in-person experience of cooking with others to break down barriers.
Despite this crisis, Migrateful has charged ahead to continue its amazing work and last month was selected for the Social Enterprise UK Roll of Honour, and its Founder Jess Thompson was chosen as a 2020 Women of the Year in recognition of her work with Migrateful.
Migrateful empowers and celebrates refugees and migrants while promoting positive cultural exchange with the wider community. We think this is a charity worth supporting and we ask you to join us in donating.
