London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge · 27 May 2023
Hi everyone, I am running the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge on Saturday 27th May 2023 and it’s my first ever 100k (62.2 miles) attempt.
Last year I ran a 40-mile race which was the longest distance I ever ran. I guess everyone has an inner desire to find a goal which helps them to develop their interests in life. Quite often I go out for a run, I try to challenge myself to run faster or a further distance. It has become an important weekly routine to get out and run – although daily I have many good excuses not to do that!
Also, as part of the challenge ran 70 miles in 7 days between Sun 2nd - Sat 8th April. I invited all runners in the area to join me for community runs during that week and it was really enjoyable.
For the last two years I have been in my current role as Rector of St Mary’s Fetcham. It’s been a tremendous privilege to meet many individuals who have a heart for the needs of the Fetcham community and beyond. I’m aiming to raise funds through this ultra-marathon for the children, youth, and families in Fetcham. Through the involvement of our Pioneer Community Worker, Youth Minister, and Children and Families Worker in the Fetcham community we have identified some needs that this fundraising effort could immensely support.
I would like to invite you all to take part in this project and I assure you that everything that we will raise is going back to our community.

Every little helps – together we can do it better!
