The charity is run by volunteers most of who have received a heart and/or lung transplant. We help transplants in recreation and sporting activities in order to further their rehabilitation and maximise the gift of life. We hope this will increase the number of people willing to donate their organs.

Story

'Team Recycled Parts' are a motley bunch of transplantees and associates, taking part in the world's biggest obstacle (the Rat Race: Dirty Weekend) course to raise money for Harefield Transplant Club (HTC) - an organisation offering vital support for both heart and lung transplant patients.

Two team members, Doug and Janka, are double lung transplant recipients (transplanted in 2013) and are now raising money to support their hospital's transplant club.

Harefield Transplant Club, consisting of over 150 members who are either transplanted or awaiting transplant, seeks to help these individuals on their road to recovery and promoting awareness of organ donation along the way. Through provision of support, recreational and sporting activities, HTC aids rehabilitation, provides incentives for a healthy lifestyle and improves vital support links between members with shared experiences.
