Story

FUNDRAISING UPDATE: WOLF RUN -  Following the first anniversary of Ryan's death, his family and friends would like to raise money for the charity PAPYRUS in Ryan's memory. We are taking part in the Spring Wolf Run on 24th April 2022 at The Offchurch Bury, Warwickshire. The Wolf Run is an 10k off-road run featuring a series of man-made and natural obstacles located throughout the course. Wish us luck!!

Please help us increase the awareness, support this amazing charity and take part or sponsor everyone taking part in this run.

Ryan's Memory

One year ago our beautiful, funny and loving 13 year old nephew Ryan took his own life. He had so much to live for and his whole life ahead of him.

There were no obvious signs, no changes in his behaviour.. we had no idea the way he felt or that he was about to end his life.

We remain heartbroken and will never get over this. But as a family we feel we have to do what we can to prevent this happening to anyone else.

Please talk to your children and teenagers, let them know that it’s ok to feel down, it’s ok to be sad, it’s ok to talk about how you’re feeling. Mental health is not silly, it's not attention seeking, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. These are difficult times but any problem can be overcome, so please don't take a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Please don't let this happen again

Helping Young People

We want to ensure Ryan's tragedy can help prevent other young people and families suffer the same fate. This is why we have decided to support the charity PAPYRUS.

Suicide is now the biggest killer of young people – male and female – under 35 in the UK. Every year many thousands more attempt or contemplate suicide, harm themselves or suffer alone, afraid to speak openly about how they are feeling. PAPYRUS are proactively trying to prevent, educate and support families after suicides.

There is still a stigma, silence, and misconception around suicide. The lack of conversation around the topic can lead to early intervention opportunities being missed.

Through their #SaveTheClass campaign, PAPYRUS supports schools and colleges by equipping them with the skills and knowledge to help children who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts.

It would be fantastic if you could share this with your family and friends (link to PAPYRUS below) and donate (if you can) to help support this charity’s important work.
