Diabetes UK is the charity leading the fight against the UK's devastating and fastest growing health crisis, working to create a world where diabetes can do no harm. It’s a fight that involves all of us – sharing knowledge and taking diabetes on together. Join us.

Story

On 4th and 5th July 2009, myself and 6 others from Red Hat will be competing [1] in the ACU National Road Rally http://www.nationalroadrally.co.uk/2009/

With the aim of covering lots of miles (over 500 in 20 hours) and visiting as many checkpoints around the UK as possible it will finish at Bletchley Park.

The riders are:

Daniel Stifft                          BMW F800S (couldn't afford a GS 1200)
Gavin Spurgeon                 Honda Goldwing Armchair, with stereo and stove
Graham Lee-Green           KTM 620, usually spends lots of time going sideways
Jon Fautley                         Suzuki SV650, his 2nd bike (if you can the 1st a bike)
Malcolm Herbert                Honda XLV 600 Transalp, bought for £600 from a drug dealer
Richard Barbosa                Truimph 955i Daytona, very shiny and black
Roger Nunn                        Yamaha XJ750 Seca; a 'custom' classic and only step away from insanity (aka Harley ownership)

I'd like to raise money for Diabetes UK, as my brother law and nephew have type-1 diabetes; there are also a number of Diabetics who I work with at Red Hat. As recently reported by the BBC, Child Diabetes is set to double before 2020
