Robin Hood Half Marathon 2014 · 28 September 2014 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running 2 different races this year, the first one: I completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon on the 28th September 2014 and the next will be the Bupa Great Run in Birmingham on the 19th October 2014.I am running them for 'Maggies' the
cancer support charity. They provide free practical, emotional and
social support to people with cancer and their family and friends. They
have a base at the City Hospital in Nottingham and you can also find
them at other NHS hospitals across the UK, and also for: Macmillan Cancer Support, whom helped 3
relations (my Sister In Law - Margaret Eve, Grandma - Clara
Newman & Grandad - Charlie Newman) whilst they were alive, and want
to give something back to the Nurses who cared for them, and run the
races in memory of them.
As well as losing my grandparents and sister in law, I also lost 2 friends to Cancer within the last 3 years and again, I will be running the races in memory of them too: Lee Harrison (whom I used to go to school with) and Mick Guy, whom used to call on me for help when his and his wife, Janet, used to have problems with their pc! Being a whizz kid with them!
So please dig deep and donate now. The minimum I would like to raise is £500 between the 2 races for both of the charities, but any figure over the £300 mark will be welcome.
