Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This year, 2022, I will be taking part in 7 runs, of differing lengths, between September & November. They are:

Robin Hood Half Marathon, Nottingham 25th September

Great Scottish Run, Glasgow 2nd October

Great Eastern Run, Peterborough, 16th October

Halloween Half Marathon, Worksop 30th October

Derby 10 Mile, Derby, 20th November

In 2019, I ran 3 half marathons and a 10 miler, raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. These were in memory of 2 friends I had lost to Cancer in 2019 and for those relations & friends I lost previous to that, to the disease :(

At the latter end of February, I had some sad news that one of my great friends had passed away, from Cancer :( they were in the Army, a couple of years before me, and helped a great deal, especially when I was looking to go into the Army as well back in '92, and join up / be posted at the same barracks that he started in. He was pretty much like my brother, someone to look up to, especially back in the early 90's.

Simon Rogers, these runs are for you mate. You will be missed a great deal.

At present time, my father currently suffers from Alzheimer's & Vascular Dementia :( It is hard to watch him suffer, it really is and hurts a lot. In 2020, after I was made redundant, I took upon the role of being his main carer and have been doing this for 2 years now, and watching his condition deteriorate each day hits hard.

Dad, these are for you too. Wish there was a cure for Alzheimer's / Dementia & Cancer.

That is why, this time round, I am raising funds for both Macmillan Cancer Support & the Alzheimer's Society this year. You can donate via my JustGiving page. Any amount is welcome.
