Land's End to John O'Groats Bike Ride · 28 February 2013

Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

Three Royston golfers, Tony Hannington, David Williams and David Marsh, are setting out to cycle 1000 miles in support of Prostate Cancer UK

Records show that over 40,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, and more than 11,000 die from it. One of us was successfully treated for it by the excellent staff at Addenbrooke's Hospital. We hope our efforts will assist this very worthy charity in its aims of combatting the disease.

On 25 May we will join a group setting out to do the famous 1000 mile LEJOG bike ride from Land's End to John O'Groats.

The plan is to start riding on 26 May and to arrive at the destination 14 days later. So that'll be a gruelling 70+ miles a day and a big challenge for a bunch of blokes more used to a weekly 4 miles round the golf course.

Refos stands for Royston Eight Fifteen On Saturdays, our group of great golfing buddies, several of whom also ride for charity.

Do give generously to help us beat our fundraising target.
