The RFU Injured Players Foundation supports & protects the rugby family. They provide support to any rugby player who sustains a catastrophic spinal cord injury or traumatic brain injury while playing the game, and they fund vital injury prevention research to keep everyone safer on the field.

Story

We are Julian (dad) and Theo (son) and are both rugby referees in the North Midlands area. Theo also plays rugby at full-back for Camp Hill RFCs U16 team. In these unprecedented and sadly rugby-free times, we came up with an idea to raise funds for two key rugby charities whilst we wait for the world of rugby to start up again.

We plan to cycle between every North Midlands RFU affiliated club ground before 1st September 2020. At every ground (where we are allowed or can arrange access with appropriate social-distancing measures) Theo will kick a conversion, and we’ll take a photo in front of the club sign to prove we’ve been there!

Our aim is to raise at least £1000 split between two key rugby charities: the RFU’s own Injured Player Fund, and the Matt Hampson Foundation. Both these charities are vital organisations in the support of amateur rugby players who have experienced life-changing injuries.

We’re acutely aware there isn’t much spare cash around at the moment, so anything that you can give is hugely appreciated, small or large. For example, if just 300 people donate the price of a pint, we’ll be there in no time!

Thank you so much, we look forward to keeping you updated
