I am running a half marathon for Muslim Aid to support their relief efforts for the devastating ongoing humanitarian situation caused by the floods in Pakistan, which has claimed at least 1,000 lives and has been declared a national emergency by the government of Pakistan.

I sadly know too well the horrific impact that these events can have, having lost many relatives and my grandfather in a natural disaster during the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.

I will be running the distance of a half marathon around my constituency of Gillingham and Rainham to help support the disaster relief efforts in Pakistan.
