Cheltenham Half Marathon 2019 · 29 September 2019 ·

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

A huge thank you for support me in the Cheltenham Half Marathon 2019!  I'm running in aid of Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice which is the only inpatient hospice in Gloucestershire.

The hospice relies heavily on supporters like you

to help continue caring for local families which is greatly appreciated. Every penny raised here will help Sue Ryder continue to provide support to local families. To get an idea of where your donation goes here are some funding facts:

£13

Could pay for a patient’s meals for a day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner.

£19

Could pay for one hour of our expert care, helping people live the best life they possibly can.

£23

Could pay for a patient’s disposable medical supplies and equipment for a day, such as needles, syringes and dressings.

£60

Could provide one session of bereavement counselling for someone struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one.

£150

Could ensure a Hospice at Home nurse has a

mobile working bag to carry the essential supplies they need to give expert care to someone in the community.

£500

Could pay for a bed for a day of inpatient care for a hospice patient.

I'm officially middle aged this year when I turn 50 in October. Last year I realised that I was probably on my way to diabetes, obesity and heart disease and decided something had to be done. I spent a year following a low carb high fat diet and lost a ton of weight. I started to run each week, a few miles at a time then one Saturday morning I just kept running. I thought maybe I could do a half marathon. And her I am.

Thanks again for supporting me and Sue Ryder and being part of this amazing effort!
