Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our lovely brave, handsome and brainy James passed away peacefully on 25th July 2019. He will be remembered for his bravery, courage and dignity in the face of a diagnosis of a stage 4 Glioblastoma brain tumour, which sadly he was too unwell to undergo any treatment for.

James was aware of the Tessa Jowell Matrix initiative supported by the Brain Tumour Charity. This will offer patients with similar conditions to himself access to experimental treatment  over the next 5 years. The Brain Tumour Charity are investing £2.8 million into this trial aimed at radically increasing opportunities, research and hopefully cures for brain tumour patients. The project is led by Professor Watts of the Neurosurgery department at Birmingham University.

This was an area that James had an academic interest in as well affecting him personally and we know that he would appreciate any donation you are able to make to this worthy and innovative cause. If you wish to read more please follow the link below to the Brain Tumour Charity website.
