*****

Mike was a beloved son, brother, uncle, husband and father.

However, he was also a headteacher, sportsman, adventurer, avid Saints' supporter and a rock guitarist, with some of these personas often blending together, as many Otterbourne School pupils will tell you.

On more than one occasion, an assembly became a rock concert with Mike suddenly picking up a guitar, wrapping his tie around his head and breaking into an impromptu rendition of 'Johnny B Goode'!

Mike was headteacher of Otterbourne for 21 years and deeply cared for every pupil and staff member that passed through his care.

For many others Mike will be remembered as a skilled sailor, with more than fifteen years of voyaging through Europe with his wife and first mate Jane.

It is Mike's love of the water that inspired this collection for The Cirdan Sailing Trust, a charity enabling disadvantaged young people to experience the challenge and adventure of life at sea.

However you knew Mike, we would like to thank you for the friendship you shared with him and hope he has left you with some special memories to remember him by.

All of our Love - Jane, Matt & Emily
