Story
In remembrance of Phillip John Stocking (23 Jan 1956 - 03 Mar 2021)
A much-loved husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend, Phill influenced and enriched the lives of many. Whether through his tireless work with students at Cranfield University, his outreach work as a member of the Olney Baptist Church, or simply through his desire to help those in the local community, Phill was ever generous, humble, and kind.
But Phill's compassion also extended beyond his local vicinity. Together with his wife, Rosa, the two were active spokespersons for the Christian relief and development charity 'Mission Aviation Fellowship' (MAF), a non-profit organisation which uses aviation to provide aid to some of the most remote places on the planet. Their role as Area Representatives saw them deliver talks to numerous parishes as well as at several airshows, and even took them as far afield as Uganda, where they got to see firsthand how the use of aviation and technology made it possible to deliver supplies to difficult-to-reach communities. It was an experience that left an indelible mark on Phill and certainly deepened his appreciation of what it means to be able to give.
As Phill's family, we can think of no better charity to donate to in his memory than MAF. It is an organisation which represents who Phill was as a person, combining not only his great passion for aviation, but so too his faith and selfless concern for the wellbeing of others.
Dad, we're going to miss you immensely.
With great love,
Rosa, Chris, and Luke
