Story

Thank you for visiting this page, set up in memory of Becky.

Becky will be remembered for her love of life, family, friends and her beloved horses.  She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012, undergoing chemotherapy, surgery and radiotherapy and in 2014 was told the cancer was in remission.  In 2016 a routine blood test discovered that the cancer had returned and her fight to "kick cancer's Butt" was to continue.

At all stages of her illness Becky fought with determination and was inspirational to those around her as she continued to ride, get married, enjoy family and friends, go on holidays and enjoy every day to the full.  Becky died on the 21st January after a long, brave battle and leaves us all with huge holes in our hearts but lots of happy memories.

One of her main motivations to continue her fight was to spend time with and enjoy her ponies. For this reason we have chosen Willberry Wonder Pony as the dedicated charity to benefit from our memories of our beloved friend at this time.  The Charity was set up in honour of Hannah Francis, another brave equestrian who lost her own battle with cancer in 2016.  The charity aims to support vital support into osteosarcoma and to grant equine related wishes to seriously ill people and their families.  Becky took her own 'Willberry' pony named Tinselberry to treatment with her and followed Hannah's own personal battle with the same disease.  Both Hannah and Becky shared the same inspirational, determined 'I won't let it beat me' attitude.

Becky will be remembered by us all in many ways; daughter, wife, sister and friend to name but a few but she was also an equestrian - her passion for horses and the sport as a whole drove her determination to battle hard and succeed in every aspect of her life.

Please help us to help others like Becky to fulfill their horsey dreams and find new research into fighting cancer in the future.
