Core Arts exists to enrich the lives of socially excluded people with severe mental health issues. Through professional educational input we are able to develop and promote the individuals artistic and creative ability to promote positive mental health, well-being and aid recovery.

Story

At the end of 2021, I lost my best friend and soulmate Ben. He was an incredible person, hugely gifted and loved by many and yet in the last year of his life he suffered with a severe mental illness that took its toll on him and led to his passing and a huge hole in my life and the lives of his friends and family.

The system let Ben down. It is underfunded & does not seem to be equipped sufficiently enough to serve so many within our communities. He, like many others before and after him, deserved/deserve so much more.

In the last months of his life in the hospital, he was helped by a fantastic charity - Core Arts. This charity was an antidote to the stretched, uncreative and dated wards that many severely unwell patients endure.

Core Arts made him feel himself again, and I have no doubt that it can help save lives. Myself and a group of friends ran the Hackney Half in May 2022 and we would like to thank you for your donations.

I am leaving this page open for a while for anyone who wants to continue to donate.

Check out the tribute we put together to find out more about Ben, his achievements and what an incredible person he was here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UGi9Ul4gcsg&feature=youtu.be
