Teacher Aid supports a school for disadvantaged village children in Zambia. It was started in 2009 in the rural Copperbelt with 10 children and now has 380 children in 11 grades, growing to 13 grades. Class sizes are 25/30. Exam results are phenominal. Corruption nil. Future Job prospects are high.

Story

When Carola retired in 2011, she asked that, in lieu of gifts or flowers, her friends donate to a Teacher Aid project to build a school in Chiziro, Zambia. At the time, she wrote:

"To mark my retirement, I am hoping to raise money to help build a school for orphans and vulnerable children in Eastern Zambia supported by Teacher Aid.

If you feel you wish to support this, further details about the charity and the school can be found by following this link,

You may work out that this will not only be a school but also a community centre for an expanding village that has nothing but the traditional huts."

She was delighted that her friends and colleagues donated more than £1,000 to the school.

Before she lost her fight against cancer in November 2014, she expressed a wish for us to continue to support the school.

To celebrate her life of selfless service to communities around the world, we are asking our friends to remember Carola by making a donation to the project.
