Aimee's Fund supports palliative care services and those providing for critically ill and injured adults and children. We support Keech Hospice in Luton specifically. The charity is a lasting legacy to Aimee Varney, who was a nurse at Keech. She died suddenly on 16th June 2013, aged 21 years.

Story

My wonderful mum, Sally Horton, died peacefully at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital in the early hours of Monday 19th December 2016.  Although mum had only been in hospital for a couple of weeks, she had been seriously ill for a long time.  Following surgery in July 2014 she suffered increasingly poor health for most of the last 2 years.  Despite continual pain and never-ending indignities, mum never complained and she never lost her sense of humour.  Right until the very end my mum remained the bravest, kindest and most loving person I know. I know that I speak for all of mum's friends and family when I say that it has been a privilege to love and be loved by her. Losing mum has left a hole in the hearts of many which can never be filled and we will miss her dearly.

Although it is such a short time since mum died, it has already become very clear how much she is loved and by how many people.  I know that many people would like to do something in memory of mum.  Mum was a great supporter of Aimee's Fund, a charity set up in memory of the daughter of a close friend.  Aimee's Fund raises money exclusively for Keech Hospice Care; somewhere that holds a special place in the hearts of many local people.

Thank you in advance to anyone who chooses to make a donation and to share my mum's page.  Your contribution and your memories of mum are much appreciated.
