The Charlie Gard Foundation is one of the UK’s leading charities dedicated to fighting mitochondrial disease. The foundation raises awareness for the condition, invests in world-class research into viable treatments, and supports families whose lives have been touched by this incurable disease.

Story

Both myself and my partner, Stephanie Roundsmith, will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of a beautiful little boy called Sebastian Parker.

Sebastian was a bubbly, fun five year old who unfortunately became very ill in September 2018 with a mitochondrial disorder called POLG. Sebastian sadly passed away after a very short battle with mito, and we are looking to raise funds for the Charlie Gard Foundation in memory of this little fighter.

The Charlie Gard Foundation supports families and individuals affected by mito, and funds vital research into treatments for mitochondrial disorders. Sadly, more children die of mito related diseases than all of childhood cancers put together, which is why it's vital that we raise more awareness for this deadly disease and help raise funds so they can support research into finding a cure.

Please join us in remembering Sebastian and support us in our fight against mito so that we can give hope to those affected by this cruel and indiscriminate disease.

Any help and support would be greatly appreciated, whether it's a donation or a share – all contributions help us to achieve a brighter, mito future.
