Upbeat is a voluntary, self financing local charity for patients with heart related illnesses. It was established in1995 with the aims of mutual support and help, coupled with professional expertise from cardiac nurses and instructors, to help patients overcome and cope with heart issues.

Story

Upbeat is a registered charity that provides support and rehabilitation following heart attacks and related conditions,

Ray died aged just 67 following a history of heart problems having suffered a Heart Attack in his forties, Heart attacks remain one of the single biggest killers robbing families of their loved ones often too soon.

Upbeat provided Ray with not only rehabilitation but a sense of wellbeing taking a proactive role in getting back to health and getting fit but more importantly Upbeat opened up new friendships and allowed fellow heart attack sufferers to share in their experiences and promote recovery with the help of physiotherapy. Ray attended Upbeat weekly and we feel as a family that Ray would very much like the idea of giving back to this worthwhile cause rather then flowers as they are a charity and without such fundraising they could not continue with the fantastic work. I have no doubt in my mind that the extra support provided by Upbeat will have extended lives and changed others for the better.  Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
