My family has been personally affected by meningitis.  My father lost his sister, Ella Mae Bailey Burgess, pictured below, to this disease at the young age of 21.  

My goal is to raise $187.41/mile for Meningitis research while running the 2023 London Marathon. That’s $4,910 to help the Meningitis Research Foundation achieve their goal of a world free from meningitis and septicemia. Part of achieving their goal is living in a world where people who do get contract these diseases receive the most effective diagnosis and treatment possible. A world where affected people and their families have the best information and support.
