3 Peaks Challenge · 14 September 2013

We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

In the spirit and love of an adventure, a contigent of would be mountain climbers from Retail Insight have decided to take on the 3 Peaks Challenge which involves climbing the 3 highest mountains in the UK, in under 24 hours. The charity we've decided to fund raise for is Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The journey begins in bonnie Scotland just outside Fort William at the base of Ben Nevis. At 1,344m above sea level, the highest of the peaks is a relatively straight forward climb. Met with a snowy top and stunning views (if the suns out), the climb up and down will take about 5 hours.

Next we race, at the national speed limit of 70 MPH, no faster, down the A74 and M6 to the Lake District. Standing 978m tall, Scafell Pike is the toughest of the 3 climbs with nowhere to rest those wobbly legs.

Snowdon stands at 1,085m, in the Snowdon Massif range and is the final peak to conquer.

As our local hero and comrade Del Boy always says – “He who dares wins, Rodney”!!

Retail Insight have offered to match the total of whatever we raise so as we  please have a dig deep into your pockets, under your beds, sofas and behind the cupboards to try and find some coins/paper to donate to us in support of a wonderful Charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate.

Please support us now :)
