Story

In May 2017 I took part in the London to Oxford Trek, but got as far as 50k to Henley before I pulled out due to my feet being torn to shreds & having a panic attack. Hey ho, these things happen & I am not one to be defeated by my own feet!! It's important to me to complete what I set out to do in memory of someone very special to me - my Dad- the one & only Mr Alan Gordon!!

Unfortunately the BHF had to cancel the London to Oxford Trek, so I will now be going the Glasgow to Edinburgh trek on 20-21 July. Still 100km!!

In 2017 I raised over £2000 thanks to the support of friends, family & colleagues. Even though I don't expect to raise the same amount in 2019, I still want to complete it for the kindness & generosity shown.

My Dad passed away on 9.9.16 following a myocardial infarction & subsequent cardiac arrest. He had just become a grandad 8 days before, so an emotional rollercoaster for the family at the time. The love he had for his family was renowned & will always be with us.

Dad was also known for his part in supporting an ailing scout group in Ash Green, bringing membership from 12 children to around 140 before he passed away. Thanks to him a whole community of children had opportunities to go on adventures and learn new skills. He even convinced me & many others to give up just 2 hours *cough* yeah right *cough* a week.

Dad is fondly remembered by all those who knew him & if the money raised can prevent another family going through this too soon, then it will be worth it. Even if I do lose all my toenails again!!

Any support will gratefully received!!!
