Story
On what would turn out to be my dad's final birthday, we cycled a marathon together to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Research. They are a charity who fund research into a cure for the disease that finally killed him. Since then a lot has changed, including the name of the organisation, but what hasn't changed is the need for funding.
Six years later, on the anniversary of my dad's birthday, I decided to take the step from cycling to running. I'll be using my legs, unaided by wheels this time, to run the 26.2 miles around London to raise money for Bloodwise.
Anything you can donate will fund research into blood cancers and support what feels like a personal cause for me but affects millions of people around the world.
So until the next time I travel a marathon, either driving or swimming, depending on how this event goes, I'm asking for your help. It can be financial, motivational or anything in-between (but preferably financial) to raise awareness and money for a truly great cause.
