It's heartbreaking to see the number of homeless individuals increasing in our local areas, there are 276,925 people without a home in England (Shelter, November 2018). But the numbers are probably even higher, and still rising. Certainly it was my experience to see a great number of homeless sheltering around the inner city of Durham during my time studying there which was not too long ago. 

Since my wife and I moved to Sunderland, I have had the privilege of knowing Basis Sunderland through the partnership of the local ministers and my church's active support of their incredible work. 

A donation of £10 will provide toiletries and towels for someone to have a shower at Basis, or £25 will cover a welcome pack for a young person to help them settle into one of the supported accommodation projects.
