On Sunday, 18th April 2010 a small team of amateur runners (amongst 12,000 participants in total) pounded the streets of Brighton and Hove in the first ever Brighton Marathon trying to raise funds for the Friends of Downs View School, a well established charity dedicated to providing a better deal for children with multiple disabilities.

Those of you who know me may be a bit surprised that I attempted the run let alone finishing a marathon, the whole 26.2 miles (42 Kms) at my age (55). I can assure you I did, but I do belive the good wishes and all the encouragements I have had over the past 6 weeks and kindness received from people like yourself had a much bigger role in carrying me over the finish line than my own 2 legs.  

I am offering a share in this marvelous journey. Remember you have the power to put a smile on the faces of many innocent children for many years to come.
