Race for Life Southend-on-Sea (am) 2011 · 8 May 2011 ·
Help more people beat cancer.
I am running this race again this year - having also taken part over the past few years. However, this time I am running very specifically in memory of my lovely mother-in-law who died just before Christmas. She fought an extremely brave and stoic battle against this disease, but - like so many others - it succeeded in getting the better of her.
As a family, we miss her every single day, there is not a moment when she is forgotten and we see her legacy in so many things: our children, the things we laugh at and the memories we have. I shall be running, thinking of her and hoping that my small efforts will go some way to help others who are struggling with this illness and their families who are doing their best to remain positive and optimistic.
