There's many people in your life who matter, none more so than those special ones who are always there for you when you need them most.

My grandma was a wonderful woman with a solid heart of gold, always there to listen to us all, and always cheerful. When she was diagnosed, our world as a family fell apart. I miss her every day and she's one of my special reasons for doing this race. xxx

I'm also doing this for Alf, an uncle with the biggest heart and most fabulous sense of humour you could imagine, who sadly lost his fight a year ago. Even when he wasn't feeling 100% he always had time for us, and I hope this will go some small way to repaying him for all the kindness and love he showed me and my family. I know you're up there routing for me, Alf. xxx

My father-in-law Alan lost his fight very recently, and I'm doing this not only for myself but also for your son and grandaughter, Alan. We all miss you so much, and your strength of willpower was an inspiration. You fought so bravely, and I hope this shows how proud I am to have had you as my father-in-law . xxx
