Story

Cancer, we're coming to get you!

Thank you for visiting my Race for Life sponsorship page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online - it's quick, easy and totally secure.

Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create a force that cancer can't ignore.

Nick was one of the lucky one's. He received excellent care from his Norfolk GP and the Norfolk and Norwich hospital. Following a visit to his GP he was very quickly diagnosed with cancer of the stomach and oesophagus. A cancer with a very high mortality rate. But the treatment he received was fantastic, right from his first visit to the GP, to his first visits to the hospital, to the major surgery and chemo he received. He had a year of treatment and recuperation, then back to work. The fast and efficient care he received saved his life.

3 + years on from diagnosis he remained clear of cancer. Unfortunately Nick died on Monday 15th April 2013 following a cardiac arrest unrelated to his cancer. But we as a family are so thankful for the extra years we had with Nick as a result of the care he received 3 years ago.

Please pledge what you can to help other families stay together for longer.

Thank you so much, from Annie, Rachel, Polly and Alex
