Thank you for looking at my page. Sorry if you were hoping for a picture of me looking fit and athletic in pink Lycra, but believe me the trainers look better -specially now!
I managed to complete the course in 40 minutes, the rain stopped and it was cool and fresh, but I still crossed the finish line with a very pink face!
I've done this for my friend from schooldays Diane, who some Burton Pidsea residents will remember as the daughter of Mr & Mrs Jackson, who owned the Post Office and shop in the 1960's and 70's. Diane is currently undergoing treatment and also lost her Mum to cancer some years ago. I have also done this for my friend Andrew - recently diagnosed, my friend Marion - treated and doing well, and for Janet - having treatment.
I have also taken part in memory of my lovely Uncle Pat, who with Auntie Pat and their family gave me such happy times in my childhood.
It has been a privilege to be able to do this for them all.
Even though the Race for Life is over for this year, you can still donate. Donating through this site is easy, quick and safe and if you can Gift Aid your donation that will add a little more to the kitty, courtesy of the taxman!! If you prefer to see me personally in the next couple of weeks, I'll be glad to add you to my list of sponsors.
Finally thank you to everyone who has sponsored me; family, friends, neighbours and the people I work for and with - you've all been very generous with your hard earned cash. A special thank you to Tony, whose support, encouragement and love have been and continue to be priceless.
Thank you all so very much
