As part of my preparation for my wedding, I am trying to raise as much money for charity as possible. I am also using this as motivation to lose weight and rehabilitate myself; I am still having treatment for my knee and back problems and am determined to be as pain free as possible by the big day.

I'm starting small with this 5K walk for Race for Life (which is taking place exactly a year before the wedding) and hope to improve on this and do as many walks as possible. I will also be carrying on after the wedding; I aim to raise an amount equivilent to half of my wedding budget for several different charities.

I have chosen to start with Race for Life as both Jay and I have had family affected by cancer and have lost family members because of it.
