As always, Joan my lovely Mum is a constant memory and continues to be talked about by all who remember her for the kindness, thoughtfulness and love she gave to all she was close to. This year, it is with sadness for Pat, Janet, Chris, Mary and myself that we will be thinking of the loss of our dear friend Daniele who also lost her life to cancer and our thoughts are with her bereaved family.

On the day!  The hottest day of the year! Pat & I arrived at 10.30 with Rachel cheering us on.  We were surrounded by ladies dressed in many a pink item - wigs, tutus, bunny ears, sobreros (would have been very handy to keep the sun from scorching our heads, note for next year!) We warmed up and got ready for the 11.00 start.  We started off fast walking then Pat got the urge to run and raced ahead!  The walk around Brueton Park was very enjoyable and we finished in Mell Square with many cheering completers at the finish - Pat finished in 35 mins, I improved from last years time and finished in 44 mins.  Great atmosphere and I cheered on TAs from Solihull College - well done everyone.
