Hope you are well and welcome to our fundraising page.  My wonderful sister-in-law, Mary, and I will be power walking our way around the Race for Life circuit at Temple Newsam in Leeds on Saturday 25th June 2011.  We are hoping to raise as much money as we possibly can for an amazing charity, Cancer Research UK. 

As most of you will already be aware, this is a charity that is very close to my heart.  Since being diagnosed with breast cancer in February last year, I have been a very grateful recipient of some of the pioneering chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments Cancer Research UK has helped to develop.  To enable them to continue their fantastic work, Cancer Research UK relies on generous donations from the general public.  To say "thank you" for the wonderful care and support I have received over the past year, I will be walking the Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK.  Events such as the Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me you can help more people survive cancer.

Thank you very much for visiting our fundraising page, we both very much appreciate it.  Although we do not claim to be as fast as "Speedy Gonzales" or "Road Runner" (and thank you to my lovely husband Rob for artworking the photo on the left!), we are aiming to complete the course in a reasonably good time - hopefully in under a day!  Thank you for your donations to this wonderful cause.
