Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
Story
Hola a todas y todos:
Aqui en Inglaterra nos vamos a juntar las 3 para correr una carrera de 5km en beneficio de la organizacion CANCER RESEARCH UK (canser riserch yuquei) que se dedica a la investigacion medica contra el cancer.
Nuestro objetivo es juntar 60 libras entre las tres
Para ello hemos creado esta web en la que pueden donar por peque"nia" cantidad que sea, nosotras, las y los que estan aqui, las y los que se fueron y las y los que estan por venir, lo agradecemos enormemente.

El cancer es una enfermedad traidora.Es dificil de diagnosticar en muchos casos, los sintomas son oscuros, y se disfrazan de otras enfermedades, pero una vez desenmascarado es incurable y letal. Esta enfermedad, que, paradojicamente, se debe a la inmortalidad celular" esta muy cerca de todos, de un modo o de otro.¿Quien no conoce a alguien que haya sido afectado?
Nosotras no disenyamos farmacos, o investigamos sobre posibles curas, pero podemos hacer algo que si esta en nuestras manos y es participar en esta carrera para reunir fondos que ayuden a la investigacion, y de paso, concienciar a quienes nos rodean. Por eso lo hacemos, en realidad, por todo el mundo,pero sobretodo por aquellas personas especiales, como Aroa, mi prima de 5 anyos, que lleva un anyo luchando valientemente contra la Leucemia y en memoria de aquellos que nos dejaron.

Sinceramente, hay pocas cosas que me asusten más que pensar que el cáncer afecta a algún ser querido... como muchos de vosotros, también lo he visto muy cerca. El cáncer es horrible, primero, porque llega inesperadamente y puede afectar a cualquiera (independientemente de su estilo de vida o su edad) y segundo, porque normalmente supone un camino lento y doloroso que muchas veces tiene el peor final...
¡Pero seamos positivos!Mucha gente lo supera y los avances médicos (esperemos) no se detienen. Por todo ello, debemos intentar hacer lo que podamos por colaborar, especialmente con organizaciones serias como Cancer Research UK.

Cancer is a Traitor. In many cases, it plays with us, hiding, pretending to be a different illness, but then, it strikes, and so powerfully that nothing can hold it back. This illness, whose symptoms and causes are not always clear, is due, paradoxically, to the cell inmortality.And it is very close to us! Who doesn´t know somebody who´s been affected? We don´t design drugs or do research ourselves, but there is something else in our reach, that is raising money for cancer research, and incidentally, raise the awareness of those who surround us.
That´s why we are going to do it, for everybody really. But in particular for those special people, like my 5-year-old cousin Aroa, who's been fighting with leucaemia for one year, and in memory of those who left us.

Honestly, there is nothing that frightens me more than thinking that cancer may affect one of my loved ones...as many of you, I have also seen it near. Cancer is a horrible illness, firstly, because it arrives unexpectedly and it can attack everyone (no matter what our lifestyle or age is) and secondly, because it usually means a long painful way, with the worst ending in many cases...But let's be positive!There are also a lot of people who overcome it and medical progress (hopefully) doesn't stop. For all these reasons, we should do whatever is in our hands, especially to help reliable organizations as Cancer Research UK.
