My father , Leslie Dixon, died from cancer, as did my son's best  friend, Justine, aged just 13.  Both of them were among the bravest people I have ever known and fought their battles with dignity and a great deal of laughter.  My friend Rebecca has spent the last couple of years fighting breast cancer and I am full of admiration for her because she has been through incredibly tough times, but has remained smiling throughout - an incredible person.
