Story
Hey everyone!!
Many of us, myself included, have been touched by cancer at some point in our lives. I sadly lost my both of my Dutch grandparents and English grandmother to cancer very early on in my childhood. I have missed them terribly at important events in my life; most recently, at my graduation day. I remember seeing lots of my fellow graduates celebrating their success with their grandparents and feeling sad that mine couldn't be there to witness my big day. Loved ones that we have lost are never forgotten.
Looking to the future, more and more people are surviving cancer. I have always believed passionately in Cancer Research UK and thought it was high time I got involved in the Race for Life this year. I have never done anything like this before, largely because of a lack of confidence that I could actually do it. I discussed doing Race for Life with my sister Becky, and we thought it would be a great idea if we did a joint-entry.
I can't run it (my knees don't like it!) but I promise to power-walk/jog most of it. I will post all the sweaty and red-faced photos on here and on facebook :)
Events like Race for Life are vital in funding Cancer Research UK’s life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me now you can help more people survive cancer. If you are a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box when donating as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no cost to you. Every donation, large or small, will make a difference.
Many thanks for your support. Together we will beat cancer.
Lots of love,
Jenny and Becky xxxxx
