In June 2001, i lost my mum to breast cancer, 4 years prior i had lost my nan also to breast cancer. It was rare in my mum as she was only 32 when she was first diagnosed ... she had 18 years remission before the disease returned, by the time it was picked up it ws too late.

In June 2010, i had just found out i was expecting my second child when i felt a lump. Because of my history i went to get it checked, being told it was probably hormone related but i was referred to the specialists.  Then my world caved in, i had cancer ... i was 33, history was repeating itself. Due to the aggressive nature of the cancer to continue with the pregnancy would severaly decrease my chance of survival and i had a little boy to raise.

So, 3 operations later, 6 courses of chemotherapy and a month of radiotherapy sees my treatment come to the end. I continue to take medication and live with the knowledge that the cancer returning is but a test result away.

It doesn't have to be this way forever, the treatments to increase survival, the treatment of young women, the cure has to be out there somewhere and this event is a small step to finding it. So i ask you please to donate whatever you can to help raise money for Breast Cancer research .... I'm running... i've not run since cheating in the cross country at school.  But i will get round one way or another .....
