We all have our stories to tell about our meetings with cancer and this is part of mine.

My mum had a tough battle with cancer for approx 5-6 years.  It initially took her leg and her self confidence.  'C'  was not happy with that and decided to re-appear in her lung and then in her mouth.  Unfortunately she lost her incredible courageous fight just after her 59th birthday. During all this mum's sense of humour was unbelievable and with her strength has made me the person I am today.  She was pleased and proud when I did this walk back in 2005 and I'm sure she'll be with me this year.

I am doing this with my mother in law, Angela, who has also been a tower of strength to me and my dad during this past year (and also had her scare with cancer a number of years ago!).  One of my aunts was diagnosed with breast cancer just before my mum died and she has battled for over a year and is slowly rebuilding her strength and life. 

Cancer is a HORRIBLE beast and is touching the lives of more and more people daily.  We wanted to do something that can make a difference and it may seem a small part but from small acorns etc etc.
