Race for Life Wigan 2012 · 20 May 2012 ·
This is my story on how cancer has affected my family. Something none of us ever would of imagined to happen to our family.
Early last year both my Aunty Elaine and her husband David were diagnosed with cancer around about the same time. What's the chances? .. Unfortunatley my Uncle Dave was told from the begining that his cancer was untreatable after it had spread from his Kidneys.
We all stayed hopeful, the months passed and there was no improvement in either case. Sadly at the end of 2011, we watched both my relations pass us by, we saw the pain, the discomfort and the torment.
I have decided to do the race for life on behalf of my mum, Julia Pennington because sadly, she is disabled with myotonia congenita, another disease that's uncurable affecting all the muscles of the body. As well, she suffers with arthitus. I've seen my mum the saddest of the sad over the last few months & I'm going to run the race for life for her, because she can't.
