Story
UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 our Race for Life at Burghley House in Stamford has been cancelled. However, we've decided to set ourselves our own challenge of the 5X5X5 Challenge - each taking part in 5k times a week for 5 weeks (totalling 125k each) for Cancer Research UK. #5X5X5Challenge
Starting on Sunday 31st May 2020 for 5 Weeks!
WHO WE'RE RUNNING FOR:
In 2014, my amazing Nana (Elizabeth Clayton) was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and sadly lost her fight in 2016. Three years on in 2019, my Mum, Helen was diagnosed with breast cancer in October last year and has just finished her radiotherapy treatment.
I am due to have a genetics test in the upcoming months to see if I am at risk of developing the same cancer as my Mum and Nana.
Lauren is running for her Aunty Josie, who was diagnosed with womb cancer which then spread to her stomach lining and other parts of her body and after a tremendous fight, sadly passed away last year.
Lauren's uncle Ian sadly lost his battle with throat cancer in February of this year.
