In short.. my mother was "officially" diagnosed with a form of Dementia in 2017, however, in hindsight we realised that something wasn't right with Mum back in 2016. The general confusion, was replaced in time with not knowing who her children are and not remembering that others close have past away many years ago.
Over the passage of 18 months, her condition has deteriorated notably, nowadays, we are not too sure what is real or imagined, when days are good they are enjoyed, but there are also dark times of paranoia and depression and these too are extremely dark.
It is hard to explain to anyone who has not helped a loved one with this terrible disease, the apprehension of visiting and never knowing what "flavour" you are going to meet when you are arrive.
I don't do fund raising often (last time was a decade ago) but seeing the work that the Alzheimer's society does and combined with my mothers worsening state, I believe the time is right to do something that is positive - so please give whatever you can.
