Vodafone employees are raising £1 million for Vodafone Foundation's Girl Fund, which is supporting charitable programmes that use technology to address some of the biggest issues affecting girls today.

Story

Did you know 130 million girls remain out of school? Or that 1 in 3 girls will experience abuse in her lifetime? I'm fundraising for Vodafone Foundation to take a stand against gender inequality and #ShineALight for girls. Every penny you donate will be channelled into Vodafone Foundation’s Girl Fund, a restricted fund dedicated to supporting charitable programmes that improve girls’ access to education, informal learning and health services in countries where Vodafone operates.

I’m climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2020 to raise £4000 to #ShineALight for girls and put an end to the pressures girls face everyday whether it be mental health, trafficking, displacement or period poverty. I’ve never climbed a mountain before and am terrified to say the least, but I’ve paid the entry fee so no turning back!

On a personal note I’m doing this for my incredible Granma who is my best friend and tragically passed away on the 5th of February this year. She constantly gave to others and couldn’t have been less selfless, always helping and being there for those in need. I hope I can make her proud by share the same devotion to others as she did.
